Apocalypse, yes, I agree with you, this should remain moderate, tags and the "EXP", by you, admin+ moderator + reviewers.
But the idea of the possibility of voting for members (only one vote per member), I think is good.
This would enable a note given by the site, and a note given by the public.
I find that the idea can be enjoyable.
Something did come to mind from Fire-Lord's post, though... I think the ratings should be reset to 0 votes when the map is updated. I thought there might be a problem with people deleting their own maps because they didn't like the ratings and then re-uploading them in hopes of getting better ones, but there's no real way to combat that... and assuming the map hasn't improved, one can assume the ratings won't change significantly.
That said, an average probably shouldn't be displayed until so many people (say, 5?) have voted on it.
Well if you resubmit your own map without changing anything but the size, that's just lazy. One of the two would probably be deleted. In any case, keep in mind that the site will still be moderated, so those extreme cases of spam and EXP-abuse would still be covered by us staff members.
And what do you mean, "possible for all," euskadi? Everyone will be able to vote on maps, if that's what you're asking.
Then it might be clever to have some kind of map version declination system so that you get the exp only once even if you upload the same map several times but with different color palettes for example. Still you could also just upload all the alternative versions as private and put the links in the description.
If it's just a resize with nothing changed, that's essentially plagiarism. In all likelihood the map would be deleted and that would be the end of that.
And I assure you, deleted maps are most certainly worth 0 exp.
By the way, about "remixes", - For example this map - #20772 - I can make simple 1.5 size zoom from original map in 30 sec and post this #20780 map. So, I will have +3 exp for 30 sec working? And if i do an x2 sized vversion I will have extra +6 exp for 1-2 minute work and totally have 9 exp for those 3 maps? But if u waste AGES for 1 map, u will have the same 9 exp (in best case)..
Yeah, u can give all bad tags for those 1 minute remixed maps to vorth them as 0 exp, but that would be a real madness, if, for example, this map #20780 would has "clumsy, not-so-good graphix, unimaginative"
Here are u another big bug for ur already shitty enough EXP system ;)
I don't know about "complexity..." what purpose would it serve? If a map is beautifully drawn and has had a lot of effort put into the graphics, but none into the design, we have the Clumsy tag in the current system. Nando's has the Playability tag. I think the all aspects of a "complexity" tag are already covered between the four already in place.
What might be nice are some non-score affecting tags, though. WMDB would obviously need the "Adult" one. Sprites and Remix might be worth keeping. Or we could just keep "Adult" as a checkbox, rework "Remix" in in some other way (staff only, so that users other than the map submitter don't abuse it), and allow users to add their own custom tags, like "sprites," "mario," "8-bit," et cetera. Nando's site already has a Tags element, but I think he has it disabled at the moment.
Also while you are with us, u can edit it as every1 want it ;)
