Was the hallway thingi about my recent upload?if so that shows u didnt quite take a looky because the all the tunnels are different (except bottom left) But its good.

I wasnt saying you nessersarily was the one not qualified.. Im not qualified neither and neither are half the people here:P it comes down to experience and impartialness which you have in spades.. Im referring to a one or two of the others (no naming)

that intergration in game rating system idea ROX like the Pgdwn for chatbox maybe like a " /rate command or something...

thats something that could definatly work out just i have no clue how it could be implemented and wether it would require conformity updates ( i.e if you dont have the update your game wont work)

perhaphs something like that could be put into PjX and then implemented as a update some time down the track but with the way the Pjct is going i wont hold my breath

Thanks for the summary, kuvasz. (btw, my excuse is that I'm busy working on the Beta these days :P ) I actually have personal interest in a community-based rating system, because I'd like to see WMDB integrated with W:A one day, and allow people to vote and comment on maps as they're playing them, so it's possible that I might try implementing it myself at some point if FFie will let me.

Katie: I'm aware that I'm not really qualified to give a fair judgement to most maps, so I just do the best my time and experience allows me. Like I said before, if you think I reviewed a map unjustly, just file a re-review request!

Well, at TUS people are able to rate their moderators in cups.
Almost all of the votes are cast when the cup hasn't even started yet. I think that shows how much people vote for the map/scheme/moderating/etcetera, rather than whether they like the guy or not.

If you're talking about a WxW map: if you make a standard sized hallway, it easily becomes ropeable. Doesn't make it a well thought out map.

Just a Q.. i know it takes a long time and theres better things to do with ones time but new system or not i think maps should be played 9even if for just 5 mins by a Pro (wether it be ropes Sheeps Shops Etc) and then a reccomendation given.


Some of the most lame looking maps on here play really well.. i saw this one a few months back that looked like a 5 min job but after playing it for half a hour i found the designer was Brill and gave due congrats

Yer the new system i heard u all talking about for a while.. Mikey and d1k and the others had long posts about it. that was comin out with rating etc instead of biased mods puttin ratings down.. Dont get me wrong.. im more partial to RR so if i was a mod id prbably pay more attention to RR's but thats me

Moaning has been part of wmdb since its inception, including moaning about staff back when maps were regularly tagged and will be part of wmdb even after things are implemented ;)

Long story short, some sort of (weighted?) user-vote system was outlined, though it isn't clear which suggestions would make it. FFie went AWOL during the discussion so nobody knows anything about the new system except that it would take load off staff and would probably be a bit more consistent. I think only she can implement it so until she returns the heaps of unreviewed maps and the moaning keeps us company.

@Gexgeko: you don't seem to be in the verification queue. Can you re-check things on your side? If you think there's a problem I'll have a look at it or poke someone to do it.

@Rodent: the review system suggests maps at random... the maps looked good to me, I haven't given much thought to the idea that he posted a lot of maps generated using the same method. What about countering "good graphics" with "unimaginative", then? I'm new at reviewing maps, so (as I mentioned in my profile) don't be afraid to request a re-review of a map I reviewed.
